With a background in Psychology, Mary has delivered training in education, management, social work and social care. She has worked in Further and Higher Education and developed her own business in training and consultancy in 1990. Mary has designed and delivered a range of programmes including training in child and adolescent development; attachment and loss; trauma; working with adults with disabilities; understanding mental health; safeguarding practices; teamwork; organisational management; effective communication and promoting positive behaviour. Mary has worked in support of foster carers and kinship carers. She has facilitated agencies in the voluntary and community sectors to review and evaluate their services including management structures, systems and delivery of interventions.
With a background in Education, Ann had worked in primary and secondary education teaching English to A level and Speech and Drama to licentiate teaching diploma level. Ann established her own business in 1990 and worked with children, young people and adults to develop their skills in literacy, numeracy and communication-(interview technique, presentation skills, public speaking). Ann has managed an approved examination centre accredited by the Council for the Curriculum, Examinations and Assessment (CCEA). She has worked as an examiner for both CCEA and the New Era Academy (London). Ann was a Director of the New Era Academy from 2002-2007. Ann has delivered management training and completed evaluations on service delivery in justice and care.
Both Mary and Ann have achieved their Level 5 in Learning and Development and are qualified as Assessors and Internal Quality Assurers for competence based qualifications. They have jointly managed the quality assurance and development of the Assessment Centre for Justice in N. Ireland since 2001.
